Festival Photography: Electromagnetic Field 2024
The Electromagnetic Field (EMF) Festival is a unique non-profit gathering designed for the curious, the creative, and anyone passionate about building and learning. Just outside of Ledbury, Herefordshire, on the grounds of Eastnor Castle, this event draws an extraordinary mix of hackers, artists, geeks, crafters, scientists, and engineers from around the world. It’s a place where imagination and innovation collide, creating an unforgettable experience that celebrates the beauty of discovery and hands-on exploration.
Workshops span a remarkable range of topics, inviting attendees to dive into everything from the ancient art of blacksmithing and the intricacies of computer security to the subtleties of lock-picking, online privacy, and even the soothing rhythm of knitting.
As night falls, the festival transforms into a incredible spectacle. The grounds come alive with vibrant laser shows, music-synchronized Tesla coils, and even flamethrowers, turning the event into a feast for the senses and a wonderland of light and sound.
For the second time, I had the privilege of serving as EMF’s official photographer, capturing moments from this incredible gathering. Every time I attend, I’m reminded of the pure joy and boundless creativity that defines this community. It’s an honor to document such an inspiring event, and I’m already looking forward to the next time this unique community comes back together.
